Law is not equal for all

Many of my friends who keep an eye on political affairs have been left wondering since Wednesday morning. After staying in London for more than three years, Nawaz Sharif, the leader of Muslim League (NUN), will return home on 21st October. The intention of the address is tied.

Nawaz Sharif is a great political leader. I am not very impressed with his style of politics. During his two governments established in 1990 and 1997, he also spends a lot of time as a journalist. Nevertheless, one cannot refrain from admitting that in 2016, a few so-called "powerful" forces pushed him towards "judicial investigation and investigation" very cunningly. As a result, Nawaz Sharif was disqualified for life from participating in the election process. He was later sent to prison for a long period of time after being convicted on the basis of a few cases of "accountability".

A few weeks after he was handed over to prison, but the owners of our state suddenly discovered that the health of Nawaz Sharif, the three-time prime minister of the country, was in serious danger. It was the first time in our history that a "convicted criminal" was given such a facility. It should be remembered that this "historical" facility came to light in the days when Mr. Imran Khan, the founder of the movement established in the name of "Insaf" was the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the so-called forces were on the "same page" with him. She was feeling very happy.

The surprising thing is that the majority of my friends, who have been constantly surprised since Wednesday morning, are emotional fans of Tehreek-e-Insaaf. With a very sad heart, they are raising the question that Nawaz Sharif's lawyers have allowed the former prime minister's homecoming. Why was the application submitted for "protective bail" on Wednesday to make life easier, immediately sent before the bench for hearing. Such a facility to deliver justice is definitely not available to Pakistanis like you and me. . But the law is not equal for all.

In this regard, if you have any doubt in your mind, remember the day when the Supreme Court of Umar Attabandial had decided to urgently weigh the issue of Imran Khan's arrest from the premises of the Islamabad High Court in the scales of justice. The accused, who was arrested immediately, was required to appear before the Supreme Court. Imran Khan, who was arrested after this decision, entered the Supreme Court building like a foreign leader, sitting in a precious vehicle with protocols, not in a van of prisoners. When he came to the court, the Chief Justice of those days welcomed him by saying "Good to see you". Delivery of "justice" in this manner has also been witnessed in our history.

Umar Atta Bandyal's behavior towards Imran Khan is not meant to be cursed like the Sokans. Keeping a heavy stone on the chest is just to highlight the fact that in countries like Pakistan, law is not equal for everyone. Law can be equal for everyone only in a state where the people are not "subjects" of rights and duties. Those who have "citizens" are considered. Pakistanis like you and me with "rights and duties" are not "citizens" but "subjects". Our opposite is the "elite". Be it Imran Khan or Nawaz Sharif, both of them belong to the elite.

This class, ie the ruling elite, has been engaged in fighting wars with each other for complete grip on power and authority, not to improve the lives of ordinary Pakistanis like you and me. From 2016, Nawaz Sharif started losing this battle continuously. Those belonging to the "Maqtadra" who emerged in opposition to him also got a "deedwar" to fight another battle in the form of Imran Khan.

During October 2021, but enjoying the blessings of "Sam Page", Imran Khan began to think of himself as the sole owner of power and authority. Shocking his optimism, his opposing political forces forgot their mutual differences and "suddenly" united and finally gave him a national identity. After presenting a no-confidence motion in the assembly, he was dismissed from the prime ministership. Despite being out of power, Imran Khan remained the darling of many powerful people in the "ruling system".

Leaving aside the mention of others, Qamar Javed Bajwa, who claimed to be his long-time admirer, also tried to calm the anger of Tehreek-e-Insaf through meetings with President Alvi despite being called "Mir Jafar" by Imran Khan as Army Chief. stay Umar Atta Bandial's Supreme Court has also shown surprising compassion to Imran Khan several times. The so-called "mighty" forces have now changed the "party" once again. It seems that Nawaz Sharif has adopted a lenient attitude. On Wednesday, "justice" that was made possible by "speed" is the manifestation of this "new attitude". Raising questions about it will not achieve anything. Just try to enjoy the "new spectacle" like a helpless subject and wait to see how many days it lasts.
